CSR i.e. Corporate Social Responsibility is the way through
which corporates address the social issues being faced by a large group of
people. It means taking initiatives that
benefit society. Corporate Social Responsibility in India has
attained a new height in the development of society and its people. Businesses
are no longer only concerned about selling their products and services without
taking into account the world in which they function. A CSR initiative includes
many things from giving away some portion of profits for social cause to
charity. Through this initiative, companies are contributing in the betterment
of society.
CSR is not a new concept in India. Big business houses like
TATA, Birla Group, etc. have been taking part in this for a long time through
charity and donations. Corporates are being aware of their responsibility in
upliftment and empowerment of the society, hence, many companies in India
realized that it is a sensible step to include CSR activities in their business
policy. The main purpose of this initiative these days is to increase the
company’s impact on society and its people.
Hence, companies are including CSR program and allocating separate fund
to support it.
CSR have no limitations and don’t discriminate between people
on any ground. CSRL stands for
Center for Social Responsibility and Leadership, an organization based in Delhi
that works towards providing financial support to the poor and underprivileged
students of society. It acts as a bridge between corporates involved in CSR
program and the one who deserve the benefits. Its entire focus is on giving
something back to the society, nurturing young and aspiring minds, and make
them enable to compete with privileged and opulent section of society. CSRL
aims to fulfill its social
responsibility in India.
